Roof repair: stop the leak before it spreads
Not every leak means a new roof. A good roofer can tell you if a repair will do.
The plain explanation
Many leaks come from flashing around chimneys, vents, skylights or where two roof sections meet, not the shingles in the middle.
Wind can lift or tear off a handful of shingles, and a repair can replace those.
Getting a repair done quickly helps keep water out of the decking, insulation and ceiling.
Signs you might need it
- Water spots on a ceiling or wall
- Drips in the attic after rain
- Missing or loose shingles after a windstorm
- Damaged or lifted flashing around a chimney or pipe
- Moss, soft spots, or nail heads backing out
Questions to ask a contractor
- Can you find where the water is actually getting in?
- Is this a repair, or is the roof near the end of its life?
- Will new shingles match what I have?
- Do you offer any warranty on repair work?
- Can you send photos of what you see up there?
- Are you licensed and insured, and can I see proof?
We connect you with independent contractors. Please verify licensing and insurance before hiring. More on how this works.
